A question to my MP about Gaza

I would like to raise a question about the British support to Israel. in a recent phone conversation David Cameron reiterated the staunch support for Israel. I want to understand what does that mean and want to ask if my MP share the same view?

Israel has started this latest attack on Gaza, and it has deliberately targeted civilian areas and services. This include schools, mosques, clinics and hospitals, water supplies, sewage station, and civilian houses . Israel has issued warnings for Wafa hospital staff & patients to evacuate as it intend on bombing it, which is a clear violation of international law.

International humanitarian law (IHL) has two fundamental principles – namely, distinction and proportionality – categorically prohibit intentional attacks against civilians, and state that even when an attack target a military objective, the projected harm to civilians must not be excessive in comparison to the direct military advantage expected. In addition, during armed conflict, Israel must provide special protection to certain groups, including children, the sick and the wounded. It must allow medicines and essential foodstuffs to reach the area freely and enable medical personnel to treat the sick and wounded.

Israel, has continuously violated these two fundamental principles through their military actions and most importantly by the Blockade. Israel siege of Gaza is stopping essential medical, energy and food supplies entering the Gaza strip. This has had huge impact on basic services, food & energy supply, Gaza economy, and Gazains lifestyle which is completely ruined. The 1.7 million people living in Gaza, most of them (70%) are refugees, can see only one enemy responsible for their prolonged suffering: Israel! This cannot achieve peace, this will only lead to hatred and I do not understand why the British Government supports this!

Again, my question is specifically on this unconditional "staunch" support the British government is offering to Israel. I am certain that you will mention Hamas rockets attacks, my simple answer is: the UK government does not support Hamas, does not recognize Hamas, does not call Hamas a friend or an ally, actually it calls Hamas and Jihad terrorist organizations for targeting civilians, so why it is not calling Israel a terrorist state? why it is not condemning Israel’s actions? Or at least do not offer unconditional support!
