life for words

I opened the door angry, as he kept banging on, I shouted:
What do you want? Can’t you read the sign (no traders or free paper)?

-
sorry, I only saw it now. Said the old scruffy looking man with a very strange hat!

Ok, see you. And tried to shut the door but he held it by his hand...

-
wait, as you already here, have a look.. you might find something you are looking for!
as much as I was annoyed by his intrusivness, I was curious to see what such a filthy bag could contain...
emmm, alright then, show me what you’ve got.

As he started taking things out of his old and worn out leather bag he mumbled
-
here we are, let me just open the bag, have a look at this magnificent book, oh yah, also there is this great paper pad, also, also, look at this lovely lovely glasses, and this is my best ever penanything you like?

Not really, can’t see anything impressive.

-
oops, hang on, before you shut the door.. they are not that expensive, honestly!

emmmm, this book, it looks really old and tatty! how much is it?

-
nice stories though… its yours for 2 hours.

What?

-
I don’t take money, I trade with time, time of your life!

Interesting..

-
so do you want it? Or anything else catches your eyes?

No, not really… what about the glasses?

-
oh, these are reading glasses, if you want them, I can give you a special price… 2days?

And the pen?

-
life. Without a pause, replied the old man and smiled!

What? Life? What’s it made of? Diamond?

-
it is not what it is made of, it is what it can do, and what you can do with it…. Think about it, you can create stories and lives with it, millions of stories, millions of lives, so I’m sure a single life is a bargain for you can get out of it!

True… I’ll have it, I’ll have the lot, but I only have one life!

-
will do me nicely, it’s all yours.

The old scruffy man walked away, happy and cheerful: that was a good bargain; I don’t think he knows what he got for his life!

Door shut, walked inside, happy and cheerful: that was a good barging; it was worth paying with own life!

one struggled with one’s life, and one struggled with everyone’s life
